It’s a holiday weekend here in the United States and we’ve got some stuff to stream for you. Free Space is hard at work booking a new guest for you all next week. Sesame Street is now going to be on Netflix? Well, that’s a bit interesting isn’t it? Anything for this longrunning public good to keep running on PBS & PBS Kids I suppose. A couple readers resurfaced our wonderful episode with Marya E. Gates. (Cinema Her Way is still available btw!)

Weekend Recommendations!

Mission: Impossible Marathon - Streaming on Pluto TV,

Theaters are going to be packed this weekend as people flock to see Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning and Lilo & Stitch. If you’re trying to get up to speed on Ethan Hunt’s whole deal, then I have a great resource for you. Pluto TV’s Action channel is having a wall-to-wall Mission: Impossible marathon. The movies are all playing in order. All you gotta do is click it on and boom you’re cooking. So, go get familiar with these Tom Cruise mainstays. (Or refresh yourself!)

The Rewrite - Streaming on Roku Channel, Philo, & Plex!

Okay, you were probably in when you saw the words Hugh Grant & Marisa Tomei. But, this charming little comedy has more to it than all that. Marc Lawrence directs this feel-good comedy. (He’s done Miss Congeniality & Noelle too folks.) A beat down screenwriter goes to Binghamton University to find a spark. It’s just kind of pleasing. The platonic ideal of a movie you make a cup of tea and enjoy without massive expectations.

La Brea - Streaming on Tubi

In one of my numerous other day jobs, people talk about a lack of “good TV.” La Brea is one of those programs that some people just gloss over. But, it can be a really good time. Los Angeles has a sinkhole open up in this one and some folks get trapped in some kind of fantasy version of “prehistoric times” La Brea is wild and doesn’t take itself massively seriously. It had a nice workman-like run on NBC and now you can watch it on Tubi!

Free Space Fun Time Corner - Wienie 500 Hot Dogs and Not So Hot Dogs

Racers, start your….Wieners? Yeah, earlier today I stumbled across the Wienie 500. Nascar put this on at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Admittedly, I’m a sucker for such stunts. Seeing a bunch of Wienermobiles on an official Nascar track? Hysterical.

Back in my sports days, this stuff would always make me smile. Because, like what do you mean we didn’t used to have the Wienie 500? This should have been a thing ages ago. But, yeah, check those highlights for a chuckle. Burning rubber and the hot dogs (just a bit for me please :) ) ALSO....
