Free Streaming Recommendations 6/13 | Free Space's Big YouTube Debut
Free Space's first video essay releases and we've got tons of fun TV recommendations to celebrate this week!

Greetings Cadets!
A couple weeks have passed and Free Space just released our first YouTube video. It lays out a bit of why we do what we do here. *PLEASE SUBSCRIBE AND WATCH!* Making sure that people have some way to find ways to entertain their families and friends on a budget is near and dear to my heart.
During the video, I lay out how my grandparents basically established the foundation of my love for TV. It’s been a long road since their living room! But, that basic cable, and later, extended cable landscape is indispensable when talking about Free Space.
A lot of the FAST Channel interfaces we deal in every day actually borrow the best bits of those 2000s cable menus. Pluto TV especially got it right, but Roku Channel, Prime Video’s FAST Channels and others all have good implementations as well.
Eric Clements edited the video and he worked super hard making it look as good as possible. So, please give it a watch and let us know what you think on social media!
(Turns out our buddy Marya Gates has a ton more to talk about than just “Street Gang: How We Go To Sesame Street”) Check out more from a fan-favorite columnist right here!
We’re still running 30% in the Free Space store in honor of our YouTube finally getting off the ground!
We’ve got FREE recommendations for you headed into another fun weekend. Excited for you all to check out our picks to keep yourselves entertained. Let’s explore the FREE Streaming scene together!

Weekend Recommendations!
Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries - Streaming on Hoopla & on Xumo
- First, some questions: Do you like amazing period costumes? How do you feel about Mysteries? Are accents a deal-breaker? As long as you didn’t have a completely negative reaction to those three questions, you’re going to enjoy this Essie Davis crowd-pleaser. 1920’s Melbourne can be a dangerous place if you don’t know your way around. Our heroine Phryne Fisher has got herself a gig as a “lady detective” and the results are amazing. High marks over here.
Miracle Workers - Streaming on Hoopla!
- Daniel Radcliffe, what a guy huh? Miracle Workers began life on TBS following a group of angels tasked with protecting Earth and each ensuing season gets a little zanier than the last. Karen Soni and Geraldine Viswanathan are great here too. But, we really can’t talk about Miracle Workers without shouting out the absolute maniac that Radcliffe gets to be in certain moments of this show. One of those shows that I’m surprised never gets mentioned more!
Roboforce: The Animated Series - Streaming on Tubi
- We’ve been tracking this one for a while over at Free Space HQ. Six episodes of this half-hour series got ordered by Tubi and the early numbers have us believing that there are going to be more than that. Roboforce: The Animated Series is already setting records on Tubi, and despite early skepticism, it’s the most-watched animated original on the streamer. So, if you have the young ones in tow, this is probably worth a look!

Free Space Fun Time Corner
This past week, Pluto TV worked with our friends at Gardena Cinemas to deliver free movies not too far from the Free Space satellite offices. We loved seeing people get the chance to take in a picture show at a place with the kind of warmth and history of Gardena Cinemas.
We’re going to try to keep you all updated on the efforts to bring Free Movie Days to more parts of the United States. I’m completely on-board with this whole deal. Will be watching intently!
Here are the dates for these “Free Movie Weekend's”:
- Gardena Cinema - Los Angeles, CA: June 7-8
- Tara Theater - Atlanta, GA: June 14-15
- The Music Box Theatre - Chicago, IL: June 21-22
- The Redford Theater - Detroit, MI: June 28-29
- The Colonial Theatre - Phoenixville, PA: July 5-6
